Special Notice on COVID-19 from the TLCN CEO
AThe Lutheran Care Network and its affiliates are taking every action possible to ensure the safety of our residents, employees, families, and friends in order to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As part of that process, we are strictly adhering to the protocols instituted by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (the “CDC”), the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the New York State Department of Health, and all other state and local governments and regulatory agencies.
Aside from those protocols and precautions, the leadership here at The Lutheran Care Network and at all of our facilities are actively working to assess and identify other avenues to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our residents, employees, families, and friends. Indeed, our leadership is one of our greatest strengths. We are prepared to navigate this difficult situation and we are taking proactive preventative measures to protect against exposure to the virus and will continue to provide the level of care and service on which our foundation and reputation are built, and which our residents deserve.
Unfortunately, current New York State mandates require us to limit access to our facilities, particularly as we care for the most vulnerable population in the face of this virus. We recognize how difficult this may be the friends and family of our residents. While we must operate under these precautions for the foreseeable future, please know that we are currently identifying other avenues for meaningful communication and interaction with loved ones, including through the use of Facetime, Skype, and other video conferencing platforms.
The Lutheran Care Network and its entire community, from residents to employees to family and friends, will conquer the challenges presented by COVID-19, and ultimately will come out stronger and closer than ever before when the dust starts to settle. Our spirit will not be diminished by this global healthcare crisis, let alone defeated. We will stand strong, fight harder, and trust that our faith will guide us through this period and keep us safe.
